About Me

I qualified as a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist and a BACP Registered Member in 2012. I am also a qualified Level 1 ADHD Coach.

I have a broad range of therapeutic experience, having worked as staff and student counsellor in universities for many years. I have also worked as a grief counsellor at a hospice and for a charity offering free counselling to survivors of sexual abuse. My private practice includes time-limited counselling for Employee Assistance programmes as well as specialist counselling for neurodivergent clients.

For the past year I have also been working as a voluntary counsellor for frontline NHS staff directly impacted by the pandemic.

Throughout my counselling career I have worked with people bringing a wide range of situations to explore. These have included anxiety, stress and depression, family and relationship problems, sexual assault, emotional and physical abuse, gender variance, sexuality, discrimination, bullying and bereavement.

I worked in France for many years and am able to offer therapy sessions in French

How I work

I always seek to get to know you as an individual with your own unique set of experiences, and am able to work with most of the situations that people might bring.

However if I believe that I am not the right counsellor for you, I will signpost you to other professionals in the local area.

My core training is as a Humanistic Person-Centred psychotherapist.

Within this framework I work integratively and collaboratively, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches including CBT and Brief-solution Focused Therapy and trauma therapy models.

Our work together could also include creative media and guided visualisation practice if appropriate to your situation. It's important though for us to work with your preferences, which we will discuss at our initial meeting and review regularly alongside your therapeutic goals.
