Sarah Olds Counselling and Pyschotherapy

Telephone, video, walk & talk

I'm an experienced UKCP and BACP Registered psychotherapist based in Nottingham.

I have many years' experience of clinical practice providing focused time-limited counselling as well as longer term therapy in a confidential setting.

I offer longer consultations on a one-off basis as well as specialist counselling for people with ADHD and ASD.

It can be tricky finding the right therapist and sifting through various websites and directories. I hope I will be able to answer many of the questions you might have on these pages. If you have any further queries please get in touch.

Why do people have counselling?

Counselling and psychotherapy can help you to make changes to your life and to understand yourself and your experiences more fully.

The reasons why people choose this route are infinite. Here are just a few examples of the types of questions that bring people to counselling:

  • Why do I often feel sad, lonely or empty?

  • How can I make changes in my relationships with my partner or family?

  • I have everything I've always wanted. Why don't I feel happy?

  • When will I stop grieving and feel less sad?

  • Why does something that happened a long time ago still affect me today?

  • How can I stop myself from worrying all the time?

  • I don't think I like myself very much, how can I change this?

  • Why do I keep making new friends and then losing them or being left out?

How can I help?

You will notice that each of these questions focuses on changes that you might be seeking to make or feelings or patterns of behaviour you would like to understand.

This is the fundamental starting point for the way in which we would work together.

However trapped you may feel in your current circumstances, I believe that we always have some choices available to us.

I can help you to identify ways forward and support you in making the changes you might need to make to live your life more fully.
